My favorite thing about being a mom in the US is that we are told expected to absorb all the negativity, uncertainty, stress, and anguish without reacting or showing any emotion. We have to be everywhere all at once. We have to be the career woman and the perfect mother. We have to keep everyone healthy and happy during world chaos. We are supposed to package it all up inside with a smile on our face and give the appearance of a shiny package of appreciation for what we’ve been given. We aren’t allowed to cry, to be angry. We’re supposed to shit rainbows.
